Delivery DNA 2.2

Understand how your organisation approaches delivery today

Delivery DNA provides a structured, evidence-informed view of how an organisation approaches project delivery across five domains and fifteen capabilities. It highlights patterns, strengths and areas that may warrant further attention, then provides practical recommendations and bounded 30/60/90-day direction.

The model

Five domains, fifteen capabilities, forty-five questions

Every question maps to one capability, and every capability sits inside one domain. That structure is what makes the result comparable rather than anecdotal.

Direction & Value

Whether delivery is pointed at outcomes people can describe, and whether value is still being tested once work is underway.

  • Strategic Alignment
  • Portfolio & Prioritisation
  • Benefits & Value Realisation

Three questions per capability

Leadership & Governance

How decisions get made, how sponsorship behaves in practice, and whether assurance informs delivery or simply reports on it.

  • Sponsorship & Accountability
  • Governance & Decision-Making
  • Risk, Assurance & Resilience

Three questions per capability

Delivery System

The mechanics: how work is planned and sequenced, how dependencies and risk are handled, and how consistently the method is applied.

  • Delivery Approach & Lifecycle
  • Planning, Control & Dependencies
  • Capacity & Delivery Ecosystem

Three questions per capability

People & Enablement

Whether the right capability is available to the right work, and whether teams are set up and supported to deliver it.

  • Leadership, Culture & Collaboration
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Change Adoption
  • Delivery Capability & Enablement

Three questions per capability

Insight & Adaptation

The quality of delivery information, the honesty of reporting, and whether the organisation actually learns between projects.

  • Data, Reporting & Decision Insight
  • Learning, Adaptability & Improvement
  • Digital, Automation & Responsible AI

Snapshot and Overview

What the free Snapshot gives you, and what the £295 Overview adds

Both use the same approved model. The difference is depth: how many questions are asked, and therefore how much can be said.

The Overview output

Findings, confidence and bounded 30/60/90-day direction

The Overview does not hand back a score to argue about. It explains what the evidence suggests, how firmly, and what would be sensible to do in the next quarter.

Findings and patterns

  • Insight & Adaptation

    Higher confidence

Reporting is produced on time, but the same three delivery issues recur across unrelated projects without being named as a pattern.

Recommendation. Add a short cause section to the existing portfolio report rather than creating a new report.

  • Leadership & Governance

    Moderate confidence

Decisions are taken at the right level, yet teams frequently rediscover them weeks later through informal channels.

Recommendation. Record decisions and their rationale in one place teams already open each week.

Bounded direction

  1. 30 daysAgree one owner for delivery reporting content and cadence.
  2. 60 daysName the recurring patterns explicitly in the portfolio review.
  3. 90 daysRe-test the two weakest capabilities and compare the change.

Illustrative. Bounded 30/60/90-day direction, not a full improvement plan or transformation roadmap.

How to read a result

What Delivery DNA is — and what it is not

Being precise about this is part of the product. A result you can trust is one whose limits are stated.

  • Indicative, not authoritative

A Snapshot is a single respondent's structured account of how delivery works. It is a strong starting point and it is explicitly not an organisational audit.

  • Patterns before conclusions

The value is rarely one weak capability. It is the way two or three interact — for example, decisions taken well but recorded nowhere teams can see them.

  • Confidence is shown, not hidden

Where the evidence supports a firmer reading, the Overview says so. Where it does not, it says that too.

  • No single definitive score

Delivery DNA reports indicative maturity by domain and capability. It deliberately does not reduce an organisation to one number, because that number would hide exactly the detail you need to act on.

What is next for Delivery DNA

On the roadmap, not in the product

These capabilities are in development. They are not part of Delivery DNA 2.2 today.

  • Perspectives

    In development

Compare how different stakeholders describe the same delivery environment, and where those views diverge.

  • Repeat measurement

    In development

Re-run Delivery DNA over time and see how capability moves, not just where it sits today.

  • Improvement planning

    In development

Extend bounded direction into a fuller, owned improvement plan with tracked progress.

  • TeamMates execution

    In development

Prepare repeatable delivery work directly from what Delivery DNA surfaced.

  • Enterprise

    In development

Portfolio-wide use, governed access and organisation-level administration.
